Free, Confidential, and Anonymous Testing. Knowing your HIV status is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your health and the health of others. MCPHD offers free, anonymous HIV testing along with education and support to help reduce your risk.

Yes. Testing is completely confidential, and anonymous testing is available.

How long does testing take?

Most results are back within a week. Rapid testing is not available at this facility.

Do I need insurance?

No. If you do not have insurance, testing can be completed through the Illinois Department of Public Health lab at no cost.

What happens if my test is positive?

Free Screening for Eligible Illinois Women
The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to eligible women. Early detection saves lives — and this program helps remove financial barriers to care.

The program has been helping women across Illinois access life-saving screenings since 1995. MCPHD works in partnership with Prairie State Women’s Health, the regional lead agency serving Macoupin County and surrounding communities.

Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening FAQs

Who is eligible for free screenings?

You may qualify if you are a woman who: 1) lives in Illinois, 2) is age 21–64 (younger women may qualify in some cases), and 3) is uninsured OR has insurance that does not cover screening. There is no income requirement.

What happens if cancer is diagnosed?

Women diagnosed through IBCCP screenings may qualify for free treatment through the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Even if you were diagnosed outside an IBCCP screening location, you may still qualify for treatment benefits if you meet eligibility requirements.
